Working on the development of the first African inspired fantasy MMORPG means building a whole new genre almost from scratch. Bringing Blackness, both African and Diasporic, into the genre — in addition to a pre- and post- colonial queer perspective — means dealing with a great deal of past and contemporary political topics. Twin Drums' focus on creating a safe space for role-play further enhances the challenge and adds to the excitement.
